Newspapers   Leave a comment

One of the most valuable resources anyone conducting research has is newspapers. Newspapers are a living record of the day-to-day happenings for any locality. The Wyoming State Archives has an amazing resource in the Wyoming Newspaper Project. I’ve downloaded, and highlighted news about the Midwest/Standard refinery from the two local newspapers at the time; the Laramie Boomerang, and the Laramie Republican.  It’s interesting and important to take notice of the fact that the opening of the refinery was considered to be a truly major event for the city. I’ve listed all of the papers in chronological order. I attempted to make the pages so that they could be read here, but in the event that difficulties are encountered, please visit the Wyoming Newspaper Project web site and search the dates as listed.
